ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Get
ready for both recreations of DADA art and performance as well as some
modern takes on the nonsense. There will be a ton of surprises, but
here is a smattering of what you can expect to see.
-- Linda Bair Dance Company's presentation of "In Der Fremde," a modern dance piece in 7 sections, with a special presentation in the red phone booth on D Street.
-- An improvisational piece inspired by Kurt Schwitters for violin and acrylic painter by Serena Willams and Maryam Dolatshahi.
-- A recitation of Hugo Ball’s Totentanz 1916 by Claire Blackstock accompanied by a modern interpretative dance for 5 on fitness balls. Directed by Hope Mirlis.
-- Music by Wyatt Hesemeyer and his junkyard marching band.
-- A socially minded performative rant by Keith Hennessy of CircoZero.
The (Non) Traditional Cabaret
Call
it chance, call it open mic, call it cabaret. Performers of song,
dance, poetry and burlesque include Amy Champ, Dylan Bolles, Nina
Galin, Bella Merlin, Giovahna Battista, Jeanne Jacobson, and the band,
Miss Lonely Hearts. Linda Bair and Co. will reprise some of their modern dance wizardry from the afternoon and ChiaWei Lin and David Dennen will delight us with some Erik Satie.
